Our Doctrinal Position
Believing that the Bible is God's inspired Word (II Timothy 3:16 and 17) and that it is immutable (unchanging) and eternal (Matthew 24:35), Evangelist Doug Lowery holds to the cardinal, orthodox, fundamental doctrines of the Word of God:
The creation of the world by the direct act of God;
The inspiration of the entire Word of God from Genesis to Revelation;
The revelation of the Godhead through the Persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
The deity of Jesus Christ;
His virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious death and victorious, bodily resurrection;
The gift of salvation through the grace of God as the sinner repents of his sin, is cleansed by Christ's blood, and believes the Gospel;
The existence of two literal, eternal dwelling places, heaven and hell;
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer for illumination of the Scriptures, guidance, power for witnessing, filling, and victorious living;
The wonderful institution of the local church established on the Rock, Christ Jesus, for edification, teaching, fellowship, prayer and the carrying out of the Great Commission; with the Biblical offices of pastor(s) and deacons and the two ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper;
The imminent, pre-tribulational rapture of the church;
The coming tribulation period followed by the return of Christ to the earth to reign for 1,000 years, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment and the creation of a new heaven and a new earth.
This is a brief summary of the main doctrines held to by Evangelist Doug Lowery. Below are some titles (taken from our ministry brochure available upon request) that further describe the Biblical stand of Heart Lifting Ministries.

A pastor cannot be too careful these days when scheduling a man to come to his pulpit. If you have any questions regarding Bible doctrine or our stand on vital issues of the day, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail us. Also, I have sermon tapes on hand that we can send out upon request.
Our Philosophy of Ministry
Believing that the Lord has given the evangelist as a gift to the church (Ephesians 4:11-16), we want God to use us to reinforce the faithful ministry of godly pastors across our needy land and around the world. We have given ourselves wholeheartedly to a Biblical, Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered ministry. We come to local churches, Bible colleges, and Christian camps as servants of Christ, seeking to be a blessing and a help in any way possible.
There is a saying out there that "evangelists blow in, blow up, and then blow out." We never want a pastor to have to pick up the pieces after we have been in his church. On the contrary, we want to be a construction team, assisting in the building up of the flock and challenging them to greater dedication, Christian maturity and service. We know (from twenty-three years of experience) the great pressures, burdens and difficulties that pastors and their wives go through, as well as the joys, blessings and victories. We want to be an encouragement to pastors and their wives.
As a preacher/teacher, I want to have a balanced ministry of reproving, rebuking and exhorting the audience from the Word of God. (2 Timothy 4:1) I speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and never blister and bruise God's heritage. I let the Sword of the Spirit (Hebrews 4:12) do its wonderful work, but it is never my goal to
"skin sheep". Along with fervent preaching, it is my goal to instruct in righteousness.
Donna and I love to sing for the Lord. We do not come to churches, Christian colleges and camps as entertainers or performers. Our music is conservative, Biblically-based, and Christ-honoring. There is not a trace of the worldly beat or secular styles in our vocal or instrumental music. We sing, first and foremost, to the Lord (Colossians 3:16); and, secondarily, we always strive to have our music edify God's people and be a blessing.
